The Island Packet and The Beaufort Gazette’s Newspaper in Education program has provided more than 600,000 newspapers to Beaufort and Jasper county students.

The Island Packet began providing newspapers to Hilton Head Island schools in 1998, starting with only 500 copies delivered. The Packet and Gazette combined their NIE programs in 2002.

Robert Jones is the Circulation Director. Robert has been with Lowcountry Newspapers for one year and joined the NIE team in March 2005. Jack Gannon is the Circulation Systems Administrator for Lowcountry Newspapers, employed since May 18, 1987, but he has been with The Beaufort Gazette in some capacity since 1977.
