Search Help

Having trouble with the search? Use these tips to find what you're looking for on islandpacket.com:

  • If you want to search everything in the Lowcountry and not just news or events, use the search box located near the top left-hand corner of every islandpacket.com page. Your search will return news and events as well as classifieds, print ads and local businesses.
  • The islandpacket.com news archive only includes local content. Stories and photos from news wires, such as the Associated Press and Reuters, that you may have seen in the printed Island Packet are not available in the online archive.
  • The islandpacket.com news archive dates back to June 2000. Articles before then are not available online. The islandpacket.com events calendar contains only events that are scheduled in the future. Past events will not appear.
  • Search for specific words and phrases that may be found in the article or event. For example, search for a specific person, street, plantation, landmark or venue.
  • When keywords are used, only content which contains that word or phrase will be found. You can search for multiple keywords using boolean operators. Example: entering "may river AND oysters" will return all stories that contain the phrases "may river" and "oysters", while searching for "may river oysters" will return only stories containing the phrase "may river oysters".
  • The keyword search is not case-sensitive.
